Zhongdeji Holiday Villa Hotel is European architecture combined by Chinese and western styles. It has luxurious and elegant decorations as well as Chinese traditional features. Ita��s sumptuous and classic. Its magnificence and exquisite designs are breathtaking. Its owner Huang Yi-zhu, (e�?a?�a??) who started off as a coiffure, returned to Gulangyu Island to build the South Tower, Central Tower and North Tower after he became a successful businessman. The villa of top-notch quality at that time, whether it was the designs, the environment, interior, building materials or landscape configuration. It beat all the consulate buildings on the island, therefore was called Chinaa��s Top Villa.
Celebrities and political figures who came to Xiamen including Chiang Kai-shek, Deng Xiaoping, Lee Kuan Yew and Richard M. Nixon have stayed or visited the villa. They were all proud to be a guest at the Huanga��s. In 2010, the South Tower was renovated and opened to visitors as a homestay with five-star services.
The renovations construction was also carefully arranged so represent exactly how it was like in the ancient times. For instance, the chandelier and mirror on the second floor were birthday presents for Huanga��s mother by their guests. The fireplace and wooden table are also of high historic value.
In the villaa��s courtyard, there are a tremendous number of hundreds-year old trees, corridors with great view and balconies, extremely spacious rooms 4.5 meters high, plus plentiful of other classic details, all of which brings great pleasure and memorable living experience.
Rooms 4.5 meters high
All of the rooms here are more than 33 square-meters wide and measure 4.5 meters high, marking the tallest of all rooms on the island. Half of the rooms at the South Tower face the sea, and are designed in a refreshing, spacious, simple and nostalgic oceanic style. The North Tower was previously occupied by the Huang family, neighboring the Sunlight Rock and a local church, decorated in a softer, historic and traditional style.
