Zhen-Zhuan goes as far back as 50 years. It is one of the oldest restaurant in Xiaoliuqiu. Walk along the port for 2 minutes, and youa��ll find it just after the stairs leading upwards. I was surprised when I first met a�?Chubby,a�? the second elder sister of the owner, who was not at all chubby. In fact, she was very slim. Chubby laughed and explained that she used to be chubby that was where the nickname came from. On the wall there hung a lot of photos with celebrities. The faded colors of them show the age of this restaurant.

On the ground floor the dining area is in the shape of a rectangle as the kitchen is also on the same floor. A little further ahead you will find the place that sells twisted roll crackers a�� Xiaoliuqiua��s specialty. The dining area on the second floor is relatively spacious. The seats beside the windows have a great view. All sorts of set menus are posted on the wall so visitors dona��t have to read the menu to order. Fresh ingredients, satisfying servings

With eight dishes and one soup on the table, it is clear the generosity of Chubby. The amount of each dish is satisfying, as if putting the hospitality of Xiaoliuqiu into the food. Take a bit of the tuna sashimi. The richness of tuna is so enjoyable that you would want to swallow. Flying fish egg sausage is one of the must-eats at Xiaoliuqiu. Unlike regular sausages, the fish eggs exploded in your mouth. It is incredibly exciting! Squid balls are chewy. Besides fresh squid, it is fried with seasonal fish and shrimp. Shark fin with celery is cooked with part which has the most colloid. It is beauty food! Stewed seafood with xo sauce is a colorful dish which has shrimps, squid, cuttlefish, sweet pepper, and beans. Ita��s already alluring to the appetite just by looking at it! The dish that works best with rice is pork with bamboo shoots. The combination of pork and bamboo shoots is the perfect match. Pork is savory and full of flavor. With just one dish, I can finish two bowls of rice!

Fried twisted roll crackers

Zhen-Zhuana��s handmade fried twisted roll crackers are also very popular. There are a lot of flavors from original to sesame, peanut, black sugar, seaweed, condensed milk, coffee, etc. Take a pack for dessert after your meal! Besides fried twisted roll crackers, also selling on the first floor are smoked cobia strips and other local specialties. The restaurant also offers eco-tourism packages with coaches, which information can be asked for on the first floor. Lately they open a new hostel, Happy Hostel, which three types of rooms, respectively for two, four, and eight people, with a total of seven rooms.
