A Montage of Sino-Japanese
What comes to your mind when you think of Green Willow? Is it seclusion around the swinging willow branches, flowing water and landscaping bridge, or the site in token of the relationship between Zhao Min and Zhang Wuji in Jin Yongas wuxia novel, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber? In terms of naming, its rhetoric simply associates with poetry in thinking.
On a visit to Green Willow, the association above mentioned turns out right, but not all right in itself. Authentically, landscaping of garden plus scenery of weeping willow are seen here, so is the naming after the scene in Jin Yongas wuxia novel, but two aspects of disagreement are present notwithstanding. One is, besides the classic Chinese garden, the building is designed to include Zen of Japanese. The other one is, in place of the novel characters, the place is in token of the owner Chen,Shu-Hui and her husband. Once educated in U.K. and a flight attendant, Shu-Hui, the youngest daughter from a local family home-stay business, switches her air hostess career and homes to start a new life; that time, she hits upon the idea of the foundering of Green Willow, and meets an interior designer, who is now her husband. The couple hits it off and flashes through marriage, co-running this mountains-surrounding manor.
The lobby of Green Willow exhibits the ingenuity of home for bees, conceptualizing the greenhouse-like space in terms of the structure of beehive and taking shape of hexagonal glasshouse; herbaceous plants like mint, pandan leaves, cinnamon, and basil are gardened around indoors; the colorful carp swimming in the center pool is eye-catching. In a sunny day, vitality fills all over the air with warmth and coziness, while on a rainy day, another charming is staying and watching the verdant landscaping outdoors.
Verdant Mountain View Above the Hubbub
The two structures stand alone across the lake, with a layout of left and right wings and the room to the inside; warm texture of wooden dAcor plus white wall space appear simple and modest; welcome fruit on the table, slight fragrance of flower in the air, and secluded ambiance precipitate oneas mind to fully relax. In a walk-in bathroom, big round bathtub is in place with sea salt ready; one can soak in a comfortable bath after a shower, washing away the hubbub and weariness of life. On the balcony, nesting in the padded rattan hanging seat, enjoying the verdant mountains view of the moment, it emerges the feelings of unhurried times and untroubled years.
