At the entrance of the restaurant there is a red table which is often used at banquets hosted by temples. How a familiar feeling! The welcoming owner Sister Hai said that the restaurant started up in 1956 by Sister Haia��s father-in- law and mother-in- law, being the first in Xiaoliuqiu. Sister Hai is now the third generation. To be able to run for such a long time in Xiaoliuqiu, one has to have unique dishes, and has to constantly develop new menu. With the natural resources on the island, Da-xin has managed to create a special Xiaoliuqiu flavor like no other.
Innovative cuisine, only at Da-xin!
Cottonii salad is seasoned with lemon juice. The sweet and sour flavor makes it a perfect starter. The cottonii used here is grown in the wild, which price is higher than pork. Seafood hotpot contains anchovy larvae, eggs, squid, shrimps and other seafood. It is tasty and full of the flavors of the sea. Another innovative dish is Da-xin deep-fried spring rolls, which wrapper is made of glutinous rice, the fillings are made with tofu, pork, pork floss and mayonnaise. The texture is soft and it smells good. It is Japanese packersa�� favorite.
Honeycomb shrimps are deep-fried shrimps with duck eggs drip through filters just before theya��re ready. The eggs become a beautifully shaped honeycomb egg bits. The ingredients are simple however it requires a lot of skills to make the shape so pretty. It is said that Da-xin is the first restaurant to make honeycomb egg bits. It can be quite greasy as it is deep-fried, therefore it is better to eat with a little Thai sweet and spicy sauce. Anyways, not miss out on Xiaoliuqiu specialties while youa��re on the island!
