Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area
Eroded by Lin-bien River, Dapeng bay is the largest lagoon in Taiwan, measuring 2 to 6 meters in depth. The average depth is 3 meters. Built in 1997, Dapeng bay has had several different names, which only until recent was given its current one. Wetlands can be seen up near the northern side of the bay, with mangrove dominating the areaa��s plantation. Animals include waterbirds, fiddler crabs, mudskippers, and many other shellfish and shrimps.

Light shows and Bride-opening Show
The Dapeng Bay Bridge is the most beautiful and unique landmark of the bay. Bridging over Dapeng Bay, it is not only the first but also the only movable bridge in Taiwan which can open up so ships to come into bay. Designed to resemble a sailing ship, the bridge at night is breathtakingly beautiful with light snows which is on every day during weekdays. (Summer: 19:00 to 22:00; Winter: 18:00 to 21:00. Opening show is starts every hour for 5 minutes. ) During the weekend and national holidays, it opens at 17:00 in the summer, and 16:30 in the winter.
For those willing to join the show have to park at a parking lot under the bridge, and then walk on it. Due to traffic control, participants must be in position beforehand. During traffic control, participants gather on the bridge, and count down together loudly. The liveliness is much like that of New Yeara��s Eve. The show lasts around 10 minutes. QingZhou Coastal Recreation Area is located nearby the bridge, which made it photographersa�� favourite spot to capture the opening moment of the bridge.
Cycling around the Bay at sunset
The main cycling path around Dapeng Bay measures around 12 kilometers while its extensions add on another 4 kilometers in total. Along the path, tourists can appreciate the great view of the Dapeng Bay, Datan Wetland Park, Dawu Mountain, QingZhou Coastal Recreation Area, and the local culture of the fishery village and Donggang. It takes approximately 2 hours to complete the journey during which one will be exposed to another lively aspect of the community. Pedal on towards the Penbay International Circuit venue, where sunset just above the sea level. Ita��s just extremely romanic!
